Lessons: Lessons are offered in 30 minute and 45 minute sessions, once a week, same day and time. Lessons generally run from September to June. Summer Lessons: Summer lessons are offered and run for six weeks. These spots are limited. Please reach out to the studio if this interests you. These lessons are invoiced as a whole and run separately from our regular season. You must register for summer, regardless if you are a regular season student or not.
Tuition:
Registration Fee $25
Yearly Tuition: $910 (due by September 10th)
Bi-Yearly Tuition: $455 (due by September 10th and February 10th)
Month to Month: $101
The above prices are based on 30 minute sessions and are based on a flat rate regardless of how many lessons per month. Fees are subject to change for longer lessons.
Tuition is designed to secure your spot on our schedule and ensure consistent, high-quality instruction. Please note that tuition is based on enrollment rather than attendance. This means that your tuition guarantees your place in our schedule and allows us to reserve the time and resources necessary for your musical education. Regardless of whether you attend every scheduled lesson, your tuition helps maintain the commitment of our skilled instructors and the smooth operation of our studio. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to this.
This fee is the same for all instruments. The Studio reserves the right to raise fees at the beginning of each new teaching year.
Instrument: One on one piano students, guitar and bass students are required to have their own well maintained instruments for at home practice. Having the right tools is a priceless investment for a student’s musical growth as musicians cannot develop a musical ear or improve their playing if they are hearing notes incorrectly and out of tune.
Pianos - If the student has a small keyboard to start, please be aware that they will have to upgrade within a year to a piano or digital keyboard that is 88 keys, touch sensitive and has pedals.
If you have questions regarding purchasing the right instrument or how to maintain it, please contact our studio.
Materials: Students are expected to purchase any music books assigned to them by the teacher. The instructor may purchase them at her discretion and add the cost to the next invoice. Any purchases of materials such as books, flash cards etc. will be discussed with parents before purchasing.
Payment: Payment is due by the first lesson of each month. Cash, e-transfer, and credit card are accepted. If payment is not made on time, the teacher is not required to give the lesson. Payments made after the 10th of the month will incur a $15 late fee. Timely tuition payments are essential for securing your spot in our program and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality instruction. If tuition payments are not received by the due date, lessons will be discontinued immediately. Additionally, accounts with outstanding balances may be referred to a collection agency for recovery of unpaid tuition. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in maintaining timely payments to support the smooth operation of our studio.
Attendance: Students are required to reach the minimum practice requirements each week as assigned by the Instructor. Parents are encouraged to take an active role in helping younger students achieve their practice times and read weekly assignments that will be written out for them. Like athletes, we musicians train our muscles and our minds. Maintaining a regular daily practice schedule is essential to making progress.
Missed Lessons: There will be no credits or make up days for missed lessons. In the case of a family emergency, the lesson may be rescheduled if sufficient notice is provided. While the instructor will do their best to make up missed lessons, this may not always be possible due to a full studio schedule and the teacher’s limited availability. If you should chose to drop out for whatever reason, your spot will be given to the next person on the waiting list.
Illness: If the student is ill, please keep them home to rest. If they are too sick for school, they are too sick for lessons. This is for the well-being of the student and those in the studio. Online lessons can be provided if the student is well enough for it, otherwise the teacher will do their best to make up the lesson.
COVID-19: Should another wave of COVID-19 hit our area, and the instructor is unable to have students come to their home studio, online lessons will take place.
Any lessons cancelled by the instructor will be rescheduled at the earliest convince of both teacher and the students. In some cases, a substitute instructor from our Studio will step in.
Termination: We require a 30-day notice if you wish to withdraw from lessons. This notice period allows us to make the necessary adjustments to our schedule and accommodate other students. If the 30-day notice is not provided, families will be charged for one month's lessons, regardless of attendance. This policy ensures that our instructors' time and resources are respected. We appreciate your understanding and adherence to this policy.
The studio reserves the right to terminate lessons for any reason at any time, including (but not limited to) poor attendance, untimely payments, lack of practice, uncooperative attitudes, abuse of studio policies etc.
Communication: It is an honour and a privilege to be trusted to teach your child. This is not something we take lightly. Open communication between the parents and the instructor is important for the success of the student. The instructor will keep parents up to date on the progress of their child(ren), tuition information and extra events etc. If your child has any allergies or disabilities (learning or other), please inform the teacher BEFORE lessons commence. Otherwise, please feel free to contact the Studio at any time with any questions or concerns.
Miscellaneous Notes:
Monday students: Some of your lessons will fall on holidays. There will be lessons on these days unless the teacher informs you otherwise.
Fingernails: Pianist must keep their nails short to maintain proper hand positions.
Summer Lessons: Summer lessons are offered and run for six weeks. These spots are limited. Please reach out to the studio if this interests you. These lessons are invoiced as a whole and run separately from our regular season. You must register for summer, regardless if you are a regular season student or not.
By registering, you agree to the above terms.
