At Valleyfield Music Studio, our mission is to nurture a growth mindset in every student, empowering them to become happy, confident individuals through the joy of music. We believe in the power of continuous learning, resilience, and positivity, fostering an environment where children can explore their musical potential and develop lifelong skills.
Through personalized instruction, supportive mentorship, and a community-oriented approach, we strive to help each child grow not just as a musician, but as a person. Our ultimate goal is to inspire confidence, creativity, and a love for music that lasts a lifetime.

Morden Studio
My teaching career started in a quaint little studio in Pickering, Ontario. I was looking for a way to make some extra cash while going to college, when a friend suggested that I try teaching piano. What started as a part time job to help pay bills, grew into a passion that I have never been able to shake. Little did I know that over 15 years later I would still be teaching. My goal is to help my students harness their love for music and help them grow their confidence. Throughout the years I have had students of various ages and backgrounds, but the one thing they all had in common was the look of wonder on their faces when they mastered something they thought impossible. This is what makes teaching so rewarding for me.
I have been playing piano for over 25 years and taken both theory and practical
exams through the Royal Conservatory of Music. Other experiences I have are, playing in church for over a decade and performing in many music festivals and recitals.
Currently, I teach piano and theory out of my studio in Morden, both in person and online. I also offer a preschool piano program.
Nic Miller
Guitar, Bass, Piano & Ukulele Instructor

With over 20 years of teaching experience, Nic brings a wealth of musical knowledge, passion, and versatility to every lesson. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Manitoba, specializing in classical guitar and jazz performance, and has taught through both the U of M’s Prep Studies program and the Royal Conservatory of Music.
A decorated musician, Nic has earned over 20 first-place trophies in prestigious guitar competitions across the country.
Nic offers lessons in guitar, bass, piano, drums, and ukulele, covering a wide range of musical styles — from classical, jazz, and country to classic rock, gospel, pop, hard rock, and even death metal. Students can explore classical, acoustic, 12-string, or electric guitar, with lessons tailored to their goals and interests.
For those eager to dive deeper, Nic also teaches music theory, improvisation, and practical applications of music — available for both individual and group lessons.
A seasoned performer himself, Nic loves helping students grow their confidence and polish their skills for exams, recitals, or university-level performance. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an advanced player, Nic creates personalized lessons that move at your pace and focus on the music you love to play.
Joel Klassen

Joel Klassen is a seasoned guitarist who brings both performance experience and six years of teaching to his students. He has played on stages across several Canadian provinces, in Nashville, and throughout Europe, and has toured the US with the tribute acts Nearly Nicks and World Turning.
Having honed his skills over the years, Joel is eager to share his musical expertise and instill a love for music in his students.
Joel is now accepting beginner to intermediate students for Guitar, and Ukulele.

I was born and raised in Dryden, Ontario, where my early passion for music began to take root. Over the course of three decades, I have built a career in music, constantly honing my skills, expanding my knowledge, and sharing the joy of music with others.
I spent fifteen years studying voice privately, refining my technique and expanding my vocal range. It was my dedication to my craft the persuaded me to pursue formal music education, and I earned my Honours Bachelor of Music at Lakehead University, followed by my Bachelor of Education from the same institution.
For the past fifteen years, I’ve served as an elementary music teacher at Winkler Elementary School. Over these years, I’ve developed a reputation for inspiring students while creating engaging, inclusive learning environments.
I have lived in Winkler for the past fifteen years, and my family and I love everything about the community. In my spare time, I love singing, reading, curling, downhill skiing and camping with my family.
I consider myself an active and enthusiastic figure in the music community. I look forward to the opportunity to work with your children to help them grow their musicality!
I am now accepting beginner to advanced vocal students, group piano students as well as beginner piano students in Morden.
Chloe Bergen

Hello, I'm Chloe Bergen. My journey with music began with piano lessons at the age of 5, but I didn't discover my passion for the instrument until I was 10 years old. I've since fallen in love with music, and I see it as a powerful art that transcends all barriers; it is a language we all speak. I've been singing and playing piano in church since childhood, and enjoyed competing in the Festival of the Arts for several years. I now have a career in healthcare, but I'm so excited to teach piano, sharing the joy of music.
This fall, I look forward to teaching beginner and intermediate students in my home studio.
Kira Young

Hi, I’m Kira Young! My love for music began in childhood, and I’ve been passionate about it ever since. I’ve taken piano lessons for many years and enjoy sharing my talent by playing in church and singing with family and friends. While piano is my favorite instrument, I’m also teaching myself the ukulele and violin, always eager to learn something new.
I’ve completed the Royal Conservatory of Music theory exams for Levels 1–8 and am currently working on Level 9. I’m excited to share my knowledge and love for music with you and help you discover the joy it can bring to your life!
